RETURNING TO THE UFC

The MMA world is buzzing with excitement as former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is set to make his highly-anticipated return to the UFC at UFC 285 on March 4th. Jones, widely considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, will be taking on rising star Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight matchup.

Jones last fought in the Octagon on February 8th, 2020, when he defeated Dominick Reyes via unanimous decision. However, over the past two years, Jones has been teasing his return to the UFC, but not to the light heavyweight division where he dominated for 12 years, but instead to the heavyweight division.

Gane, is a relative newcomer to the UFC, having made his debut in 2019. However, he has quickly made a name for himself with a perfect 10-0 record in the organization, before losing a fight for the belt to the current holder Francis N'Gannou. Gane was last seen at UFC Fight Night on September 3rd, 2022 where he won via TKO against Tai Tuivasa.

The matchup between Jones and Gane promises to be an exciting one, as Jones' time away from the Octagon will be tested against Gane who fought 6 times since we last saw Jones.

Many fans are eagerly awaiting this fight, as it will be the first time Jones will be competing in the heavyweight division. Jones has a long history of success in the light heavyweight division, and many are curious to see how he will fare against the larger fighters.

Many questions currently arise about the current belt holder, Francis N'Gannou's future with the UFC as his belt will be vacated as soon as the bell rings March 4th while Jones and Gane share the Octagon.
