Confirmed by Eurosport Nederland, Raul Rosas Jr (7-0) will face Christian Rodriguez (8-1) at UFC 287 on April 8th in a bantamweight bout. A location has not been confirmed, as it has been rumored that the event will take place in Brooklyn, New York or Miami, Florida.
The youngest fighter in UFC history has exploded on the scene after his first round finish of Jay Perrin via submission at UFC 282. His electric debut comes less than three months after his Dana White’s Contenders Series win over Mando Gutierrez via unanimous decision at 17 years old.
Rodriguez comes off a first round submission win of Joshua Weems in October 2022. This victory comes off the heels of an unsuccessful UFC debut where he lost to Jonathan Pearce on short notice at featherweight. Nonetheless, Rodriguez poses to be a step up in competition for Rosas Jr. Rodriguez trains out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a Duke Roufus disciple. Rosas Jr. will likely have an advantage on the ground but Rodriguez elite striking will have the advantage on the feet and make it difficult for Rosas Jr. to get within range. Who do you think comes out victorious?
